• Caroline Walters

    Owner and Co-Director

    One of the top defensive players in West Coast Conference history, Caroline Walters enters her fifth season as head coach of the Cal Poly volleyball program in 2024 after being hired in December of 2018. Prior to being named head coach, she spent two seasons as the team's associate head coach and eight seasons as an assistant coach. Overall, Walters is in her 16th year with CPVB. She started 805 Elite Volleyball in 2010 hoping to fill the need of a competitive club on the Central Coast.

  • Casey Haniger

    Co-Director, Head Coach

    Casey joins 805 Elite for her fourth year. Previously she played Beach and Indoor Volleyball at Cal Poly. In High School she was a Four-year letterwinner and three-time All-Santa Clara Valley De Anza League selection named league Most Valuable Player in 2013 after leading team with 3.9 kills per set and .303 hitting percentage and helping program to California Interscholastic Federation Central Coast Section championship. She was named De Anza League Junior of the Year in 2012 after lifting program to the first of two league titles and a Central Coast Section runner-up finish. She played for Vision Volleyball Club in the Bay Area.

    Head Coach

    Addie will be entering her second season with 805 Elite. She currently is starting her 2nd season as the Cal Poly Women’s Volleyball Assistant Coach. Previously she coached at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. There, she helped coach six players who earned All-Big South honors. Prior to that, she spent one season as a volunteer assistant coach at University of San Diego in 2020-21 in which the Toreros reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Addie was a standout middle blocker at the University of San Diego, being named twice an AVCA All-American and First Team All-West Coast Conference.

  • Jason Borchin 805 Elite Volleyball Club

    Head Coach

    Jason will be entering his sixth year with 805 Elite. He currently is the Cal Poly Women’s Volleyball Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Previously he coached for Sacramento State University. Borchin also was the co-head coach of the Sacramento State beach volleyball program for three seasons. Borchin also coached club volleyball in the Sacramento area for 10 years and was the head coach of the Northern California Volleyball Club (NCVC) Girls 18s team that earned a fifth-place finish at the Junior Nationals in Dallas, Texas. Borchin boasts a total of 18 years of coaching experience between the intercollegiate, high school and club levels.

  • Jessie Borchin 805 Elite Volleyball

    Head Coach

    Jessie Borchin is joining 805 Elite for her sixth season. Previously she played for Sacramento State University for two years where she was the starting outside and right side hitter. Originally from Kent WA, she played four years of both volleyball and basketball. In volleyball, she was named first team all-state and the South Puget Sound League MVP as both a junior and senior. She led the team to league titles all four years, including a pair of district championship. Currently, she holds the school record for career hitting percentage (.293) and the record for aces in a match (14).

  • Mitchel Salles

    Head Coach

    Mitchel joins 805 Elite for his third season. Previously he was the starting libero for the Cal Poly Boys Volleyball Club. He is originally from Fresno, CA where he played for Valley Volleyball Academy. He coaches for San Luis Obispo JV team where he has led his squad to an undefeated record in 2022.

  • Meredith Phillips

    Head Coach

    Meredith joins 805 Elite for her fourth season. Previously, she was the all-star middle blocker for Cal Poly Volleyball where she was named First Team All-Big West after having the second-most kills on the team. She also coached for Templeton High School in 2023.

  • Winston Stearns

    Head Coach

    Winston joins 805 Elite for his fifth season. Previously, he worked as the Director of Volleyball Operations at Cal Poly Women’s Volleyball. As an Arroyo Grande native, he played as a setter throughout high school.

  • Ali Bateman

    Head Coach

    Ali Bateman joins 805 Elite for her second season. Previously, she coached for Midcoast Volleyball Club and is the current Head Coach for SLO Classical Academy. Ali was a two time All-American outside hitter or the University of San Diego where she led her team to a final four finish.

  • Kathy Bullis

    Head Coach

    Kathy joins 805 Elite for her first season. Previously she was a high school volleyball coach in Wisconsin where she lead her teams to 3 conference championships, 4 regional titles, and 2 sectional runner-ups. Her daughter, Emme, currently plays for Cal Poly as their starting setter. Kathy played Outside hitter at The University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

  • Emme Bullis

    Emme joins 805 Elite for her 2nd year coaching. Currently, she plays for Cal Poly as their starting setter. In high school she was a four-year varsity player at Whitewater High School in Wisconsin where she was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection.

  • Ella Weinert

    Head Coach

    Ella joins 805 Elite for her 3rd season. She has been coaching volleyball for 5 years both in SLO and San Diego. She will be graduating Cal Poly in December with a degree in Liberal Studies.

  • Kate Slack

    Head Coach

    Kate joins 805 Elite for her third season. She currently plays for Cal Poly Volleyball as their starting middle blocker. A three-year team captain at Roseville High School, was a two-time all-conference honoree and was named one of Prep Volleyball's top Senior Aces.

  • Annabelle Thalken

    Head Coach

    Annabelle will be joining 805 Elite for her second season. Currently, she plays for Cal Poly Volleyball as their right side hitter. In high school she played as a right side hitter and setter during her four year varsity career, was named team MVP twice, played club volleyball for NCVC, Rage Sacramento, and Omni ... was an AP Scholar awardee, on the honor roll, and won the presidential award for academic excellence

  • Mia Gutierrez

    Head Coach

    Mia will be joining us for her second year at 805 Elite. This will be her fourth year coaching club volleyball. Previously she played libero at C. K. McClatchy HighSchool in Sacramento. As co-captain her senior year, she her her team through an undefeated season and metro league title. She was named MVP in 2021, and also earned metro all league award for defense.

  • Miya Huffman

    Assistant Coach

    Miya joins us for her second year at 805 Elite. She served as a co-captain and played as a right side for John F Kennedy High School’s varsity team and Force Performance Volleyball Club in Sacramento, where she also played beach volleyball. Miya is a 3rd year Financial Management student at Cal Poly and has been on the Dean’s List for the entirety of her time at Cal Poly.

  • Amy Hiatt

    Assistant Coach

    Amy will be joining us for her second year at 805 Elite. Currently she plays for the Cal Poly Women’s Volleyball Team as an Opposite/Middle/Outside Hitter - a jack of all trades! This will be her 5th season with the Mustangs and has received All Big West Academic Honors for the past four seasons. Previously, she was a three-time offensive MVP for Placer high school. Leading her squad to a league title in 2018 while also earning Foothill Valley League Co-MVP she also earned an All-League nod as a junior in 2017.

  • Lizzy Markovska

    Assistant Coach

    Lizzy joins 805 Elite for her third season. She currently plays for Cal Poly Volleyball as their starting outside hitter. A two-time all-league performer at Paloma Valley High School, helped lead her team to a league title and a second-place CIF State Championship finish two-years in a row ... named an all-league performer twice and has also been named all-CIF and team MVP ... as a senior in 2019, she averaged 4.0 kills per set while hitting .265 ... held 4.0+ gpa throughout high school.

  • Charlotte Graves

    Assistant Coach

    Charlotte joins 805 Elite for her third season. Previously, she competed with 805 Elite as a middle blocker and recieved multiple college offers before ultimately deciding to go to Cal Poly and coach for 805 Elite.

  • Michaela Velleno

    Assistant Coach

    Michaela will be joining 805 Elite for her second season. This is her fourth year coaching volleyball and is currently a third year at Cal Poly Slo. Previously Michaela played as an outside hitter for three years on the varsity team at Woodside High School and for six years of club in the Bay Area. While she was playing club she held the highest ace percentage and serve receive percentage on her team.

  • Emma Martin

    Emma joins 805 Elite for her second season. Previously she was the starting setter for Cabrillo College where she also played beach volleyball, before transferring to Cal Poly. Originally she is from the Central Valley where she played club volleyball for seven years. She also serves as the SLO High Freshman Coach.

  • Tess Massingale

    Assistant Coach

    Tess joins 805 Elite for her 3rd season coaching. She currently plays for Cal Poly volleyball as their starting middle blocker! Previously, she played for Jesuit High School in Portland, OR where she lead the Crusaders win three state championships. Her senior year she was named Oregon Sports Award Player of the year.

  • Sophie Rohr

    Assistant Coach

    Sophie has been coaching for 805 Elite Non-Travel and Semi-Travel program for 5 years. Previously she competed on one of the most successful 805 Elite volleyball teams of all time as a defensive specialist. She is a three year captain for SLOCA and a four year varsity player.

  • Lillian Madsen

    Assistant Coach

    Lillian joins 805 Elite for her second season. She currently is studying Pre-Nursing at Cuesta College. She is originally from the Central Valley where she competed as a setter through her seven years of playing for school and club.

  • Jonah Goodman

    Jonah Goodman is currently a sophomore at cal poly. He has eight years of volleyball experience as an outside hitter and is originally from Santa Cruz, CA. Jonah joins us for his first season coaching at 805 Elite.

  • Isaiah Kreuger

    Assistant Coach

    Isaiah joins 805 Elite for his first season. Originally from Hawaii, Isaiah is a second year at cal poly. During high school Isaiah was an all-state first team outside hitter where he led his team to in the D2 Hawaii state championship. Previously he has coached for Quicksets Volleyball Club in Hawaii.

  • Olivia Hernandez

    Head Coach

    Olivia is a second year at Cal Poly from San Diego, CA. She played club and beach volleyball throughout high school and lead her team to the CIF finals her senior year. She is also on the club beach volleyball team for Cal Poly.

  • Hannah Garrett

    Assistant Coach

    Hannah will be entering her first season coaching a team with 805 Elite. She has been a non-travel coach for a year and is an 805 Elite alumni, playing on the travel teams for 5 years. She currently is in her senior year at MCP and is an outside on the volleyball team. Hannah plays beach volleyball as well and plans to play collegiate volleyball next fall at UC Davis. Hannah has received Second-Team All League, League MVP and Female Athlete of the Year at MCP the last couple of years.

  • Laela Burgess

    Laela has played for 805 Elite for 7 years. Last season she was an assistant coach for the 13-3s team. She is currently a senior at SLO High, where she has been the starting setter for their varsity team for three years. Her junior season, shew as named Mountain League MVP. Laela is committed to UC Davis to play D1 indoor volleyball.

  • Ryann Adrian

    Assistant Coach

    Ryan will be entering her 2nd season with 805 Elite. She has 7 years of volleyball experience under her belt - four of which where she was a setter. Ryann enjoys sharing her love of volleyball with young players and seeing them develop throughout the season.
